It’s that time again. Time for New Years Resolutions! If you’re anything like me then you probably make a long list of hard to reach goals that never get resolved. You end up leaving the year thinking that you’ve accomplished nothing. This year has caused a lot of introspection for me (thank you quarantine!), and I decided that my resolutions this year will be more on the “mental” side than the “physical”.
While thinking about what I want to change about myself in this new year, I started thinking about what I could learn from all of my favorite anime characters and why I admire them so much! So, here is a list of some of my favorite characters and what I want to take away from them to make my new year as awesome as possible!

Luffy (One Piece)
Luffy is always there to help his friends. This year I am going to make more time and be as helpful as I can to my nakama just like Luffy does.
Naruto (Naruto lol)
Naruto never lets others opinions hold him back. He is true to himself and never goes back on his word. That will be my nindo for the new year as well. Believe it!
Deku (My Hero Academia)
Deku is not scared to show his true emotions and has shown me that emotions only make you stronger, not weaker. He is always genuine in his actions and will always help those in need. If that’s what it means to be a hero then count me in!
Usagi (Sailor Moon)
Usagi is a crybaby girly girl but also is a powerful badass. She sticks to her morals and always follows her intuition. To follow in Sailor Moon’s footsteps I will trust in myself more and speak my true feelings! Like Usagi said, “Thinking isn’t going to get us anywhere”.
Although all these characters are pretty different they all share similar qualities: faith in yourself and your friends, sticking to your morals, and most importantly… Never giving up!
Gombare mina! Let’s all do our best to make 2021 a year we can all be proud of! Believe in yourself because I believe in you!
